Polandball: Memes and Graphic Novels as Public History

  • Tipo Sección de un libro
    Autor Anna Borkiewicz
Resumen This chapter explores internet memes and comics by analyzing the Polandball phenomenon – a somewhat syncretism of those two forms, and topically a mixture of national Polish history and world history which makes them easily accessible to a wide international audience. Examples of Polandball memes depicting mostly colossal failures in Poland’s past and pointing out the weaknesses the Polish nation are used to discuss the phenomenon of internet memes as public history.
