Sin embargo, crear tiras de codificaci\u00f3n es un proceso creativo que requiere mucho tiempo. Los creadores tienen que generar historias a partir de c\u00f3digo (c\u00f3digo-&gt;historia) y dise\u00f1ar c\u00f3mics a partir de historias (historia-&gt;c\u00f3mic). Contribuimos con CodeToon, una herramienta de creaci\u00f3n de historietas que facilita este proceso de narraci\u00f3n basado en c\u00f3digo con dos mecanismos: (1) ideaci\u00f3n de la historia a partir del c\u00f3digo usando met\u00e1foras y (2) generaci\u00f3n autom\u00e1tica de historietas a partir de la historia. Realizamos un estudio de usuarios de dos partes que eval\u00faa la herramienta y los c\u00f3mics generados por los participantes para probar si CodeToon facilita el proceso de creaci\u00f3n y ayuda a generar c\u00f3mics de calidad. Nuestros resultados muestran que CodeToon ayuda a los usuarios a crear tiras de codificaci\u00f3n precisas, informativas y \u00fatiles en un tiempo significativamente m\u00e1s corto. En general, este trabajo aporta m\u00e9todos y pautas de dise\u00f1o para la narraci\u00f3n basada en c\u00f3digo y abre oportunidades para usar el arte para apoyar la educaci\u00f3n en inform\u00e1tica.<\/p>\n<p>Recent work demonstrated how we can design and use coding strips, a form of comic strips with corresponding code, to enhance teaching and learning in programming. However, creating coding strips is a creative, time-consuming process. Creators have to generate stories from code (code-&gt;story) and design comics from stories (story-&gt;comic). We contribute CodeToon, a comic authoring tool that facilitates this code-driven storytelling process with two mechanisms: (1) story ideation from code using metaphor and (2) automatic comic generation from the story. We conducted a two-part user study that evaluates the tool and the comics generated by participants to test whether CodeToon facilitates the authoring process and helps generate quality comics. Our results show that CodeToon helps users create accurate, informative, and useful coding strips in a significantly shorter time.
